Job Description

HGV Refuse Driver / Waste Collection Driver (Local Authority) Rate of Pay: £14.99 per hour Department: Environmental Services / Waste Management Hours: Mon - Fri, 6:45am – 3.45pm, 3.30pm finish Friday (Bank Holidays included) Location: Tameside As a Class 2 HGV Driver you will safely operate refuse collection vehicles and assist in the efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of household waste, ensuring high standards of public health, safety, and customer service. Key Responsibilities

• ✓Drive HGV/LGV vehicles over planned routes, delivering goods safely and on time
• ✓Complete tachograph records accurately and adhere to drivers' hours regulations
• ✓Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections (walkaround checks)
• ✓Ensure loads are secured correctly and within legal weight limits
• ✓Liaise with depot teams and customers regarding deliveries
