J Matthews Plant Hire is currently looking for a HGV Class1 or 2 Driver to join their team in Essex, Eastern England. This is a Full-Time position offering From £47k, ideal for professional drivers who take pride in their work and want to be part of a well-established operation.
As a HGV Class1 or 2 Driver, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring safe and efficient driving duties are carried out to the highest standards. The right candidate will be punctual, professional, and experienced in the relevant vehicle type or driving category.

Job Description
We are looking for a HGV class 1 or 2 driver with experience in delivering plant machinery for a busy Plant Hire Company. The applicant would be required to load, deliver and collect plant from different locations mainly around the East and South East of England. Good communication skills would be required and also a loading plant machinery would be useful. Our normal hours are 7 until 5 Monday to Friday with with overtime available. Key Responsibilities
- ✓Drive HGV/LGV vehicles over planned routes, delivering goods safely and on time
- ✓Complete tachograph records accurately and adhere to drivers' hours regulations
- ✓Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections (walkaround checks)
- ✓Ensure loads are secured correctly and within legal weight limits
- ✓Liaise with depot teams and customers regarding deliveries
